Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Appifire collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use Appifire AI Chat for Shopify.
Effective date: March 30, 2026
1. Scope
This policy applies to merchants using Appifire AI Chat, visitors interacting with the chat widget on merchant storefronts, and related support interactions. It covers data processed through the Appifire website, app dashboard, and Shopify app integration.
2. Information we collect
We collect information necessary to provide AI chat, product-aware responses, and order-related support.
- Merchant account and store data: Shopify store domain, app installation details, plan/billing status, product catalog data, collections, store pages, and configuration settings.
- Order-related data: order identifiers, fulfillment status, tracking details, and related metadata required for order-status answers.
- Chat and interaction data: visitor messages, bot responses, timestamps, session IDs, usage/reply counts, and error logs.
- Technical data: device/browser type, IP-derived diagnostics, and performance telemetry used for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
- Support data: messages, attachments, and metadata shared when you contact our support team.
3. How we use information
We use data to operate and improve Appifire AI Chat, including:
- Generating chat responses grounded in merchant store data.
- Providing order-status and tracking answers in chat.
- Synchronizing catalog/order information from Shopify.
- Measuring usage for plan limits, credits, and billing.
- Monitoring quality, reliability, and security of the service.
- Providing customer support and resolving incidents.
- Complying with legal obligations and enforcing terms.
4. Legal bases and roles
In many cases, merchants act as data controllers for customer data processed through chat, and Appifire acts as a processor or service provider. We process personal data on lawful bases such as contract performance, legitimate interests, consent (where required), and legal obligations.
5. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal data. We may share data only as needed to provide the service, including with:
- Infrastructure, hosting, analytics, and support vendors.
- AI and model providers used to generate chat responses.
- Shopify APIs and related platform services.
- Authorities or legal counterparties when required by law or to protect rights, security, and safety.
6. AI processing and safeguards
Appifire uses AI to generate responses based on merchant-provided data and store context. AI responses can be probabilistic. We implement controls to reduce inaccurate answers, but merchants should review configuration and monitor chat quality for their use case.
7. Data retention
We retain data only for as long as needed for service delivery, security, dispute resolution, legal compliance, and legitimate business operations. Retention windows may vary by data type, account status, and legal requirements.
8. Security
We apply technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect data, including access controls, encryption in transit, monitoring, and least-privilege practices. No method of transmission or storage is fully risk-free.
9. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We use appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law for cross-border transfers.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port personal data. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. Merchants can request updates or deletion through support.
11. Shopify and third-party platforms
Appifire integrates with Shopify and may interact with other merchant tools. Their separate terms and privacy policies apply to their own processing activities.
12. Children's privacy
Appifire is not directed to children and is intended for business storefront support. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children in violation of applicable law.
13. Policy updates
We may update this policy to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
